The 2024 edition of SummerSlam has surely lived up to its name as the biggest event of the summer in WWE. Everything seemed ready for the return to action of Roman Reigns, the former undisputed champion who has remained on the sidelines since losing the title to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, and he surely did not disappoint.
The former Universal Champion returned to help Rhodes win his fight against Solo Sikoa. The Head of the Table returned to one of the loudest crowd pops in the history of the sport, as he took on his former enforcer and established himself as still the top Bloodline member in the promotion. But why were the masses mesmerized by the aura of the chief? Did you notice the letters written on his T-shirt?

Unveiling OTC: The Original Tribal Chief
Reigns’ T-shirt read OTC, something that wasn’t present in any of his older merchandise. So what does OTC mean? The OTC acronym comes from his recent storyline after Solo Sikoa took over the Bloodline and announced himself as the new leader. As a response to the Samoan, The Big Dog proudly wears OTC on his chest, which stands for the Original Tribal Chief. This was earlier predicted by WrestleVotes as well. “With the imminent return of Roman Reigns, sources claim that one of the ideas discussed centers on Reigns claiming to be ‘The Original Tribal Chief’ in response to Solo Sikoa’s recent proclamations,” WrestleVotes wrote.
It should be remembered that last week, on Friday Night SmackDown, Solo Sikoa issued a warning to Cody Rhodes, his rival at SummerSlam, and Roman Reigns. Well, it sure looks like the Big Dog found him and took his first step toward revenge. So what does the future look like for the OG Head of the Table?
The Original Tribal Chief Undergoes a Face Turn
There are rumors about the role that Roman Reigns will acquire after his return. Some media outlets suggested weeks ago that WWE would take the opportunity to give a twist to his character and transform him into a face, leaving behind his heel role of recent years. During this time, things have changed significantly in The Bloodline, as Solo Sikoa has taken full control as ‘Tribal Chief’ and expelled Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman. Additionally, he has the support of Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. The chances are high that Reigns will reunite with his former members to re-form the original Bloodline and start a civil war.
The return of Jimmy Uso will soon take place as well. Jey Uso also spoke about those possible returns in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. The Yeet Man indicated that his brother Jimmy will return to programming soon. He said, “My brother will be back soon. I want to see him on TV. Like, if you really pay attention to Jimmy, Jimmy [is] funny as hell. He started shining on SmackDown for a little bit, then he got hurt. I’m excited to see his character back on TV. How he is with Roman [Reigns] now. Even with me.”
